Our one of a kind pristine Vermont inn sits on seven secluded acres of peaceful tranquility with a scenic view of Lake Salem. Breathe “Inn” the clean, fresh air of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.
We are located in the lovely town of Derby, Vermont – the “Crown Jewel” of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom away from the crowds and traffic in the center of town. Situated on beautiful Lake Salem with free use of a kayak, canoe or paddle boat.
Your innkeepers, Mo and Joe provide you with ambiance, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality. Mo is the chef at the inn and Dinner is available by advance notice since all meals are fresh and prepared to order.
Mo is also a Senior Fitness Instructor, dance teacher. and a Nationally Certified Water Fitness Instructor, She donates the money earned from her Senior Fitness class to the church’s where she teaches and is also a volunteer with the Association for the Blind.
Even though Joe is retired, he stays very busy maintaining the beautiful grounds of the inn and clearing the snow from our property so our guests have a safe place to drive. He has over 55 years experience owning a successful residential/commercial landscape business which he sold when we relocated from the suburbs of Philadelphia. In addition he owned a 4-star Italian Restaurant in the Philadelphia area along with a bakery. He has been a Volunteer Fireman for over 55 years and serves as Chair on the Planning Commission and the Zoning Boards.
A full breakfast may include one of the following, Croissant topped with Joe’s fluffy herbed eggs and Mo’s delicious cheese topping; Omelets, Puffed Eggs served with Mo’s homemade semolina bread and fresh fruit; Potato Bread French Toast topped with simmered apples, walnuts, raisins and brown sugar; Buttermilk Pancakes served with baked, stuffed pears. New England Spiced Pumpkin Bread. Changes daily. All entree’s are served with fresh juice, freshly ground coffee and a variety of teas. (We do not serve breakfast meats)
